My Story
In the ensuing years, Leo demonstrated a flair for sales and engineering at Tretolite in Perryton, Texas, where he notably became the top-selling national salesman in the USA for two consecutive years, 1980 and 1981. His journey then took him to Ecuador, where he not only established a subsidiary for Petrolite but also managed all its facets, from sales to company relations and legal matters, single-handedly. While there, he spearheaded the development of new products specifically designed for the Amazon fields, fostering growth that saw the subsidiary expand to a team of 20 and achieving 5 million in sales.

A visionary, Leo identified a significant opportunity while at Remote Marine Systems, which led to the inception of revolutionary connector technology, fulfilling a vital gap in the Electric Submersible Pump (ESP) installations sector. This initiative bore fruit with the formation of Hydrahead Ecuador in 2003, followed by Hydrahead Industries in 2008 and SURFCO in the same year.

Today, Leo is renowned for his ingenuity and leadership in wellhead connector technology, bringing forward proprietary solutions that are now exclusively featured at Surfco (Surface Connector). His rich history of immersion in the industry has bestowed upon him a wealth of knowledge and a deep understanding of the sector's global impact. Encouraging others to delve into this world, he recommends essential readings such as "The Quest" by Daniel Yergin and "The Frackers" by Gregory Zuckerman.

Through his enduring commitment to innovation and his ability to continually redefine industry standards, Leo Bryce Schraeder stands as a venerated figure in the oil and gas sector, embodying the spirit of American innovation driven by a unique understanding of land and mineral rights policies to foster groundbreaking developments.
